I Really Really Really Didn't Want To Do It.....

First, a pic from yesterday.....
It was Half-Priced Ice Cream Cone Day at Sonic.  And it was Monday.  I think that EVERY Monday should be Half-Priced Ice Cream Cone Day at Sonic...just because it's Monday.

There was no workout yesterday because I came home and started working on speech evaluations reports. There was also no Dallas season finale, no Gotham, no fun.

Today, I came home after work and started working on reports.  But, let me be completely honest: I really, really, really didn't want to run tonight.  I really didn't.  If my coworker wasn't meeting me, I wouldn't have gone.  Thank goodness for accountability.

Today was the first run for the training season for the Dallas Half.  I have used the Hal Higdon Novice 1 Half-Marathon app for all three of my half marathons...and it has paid for itself.  Tonight we ran on a trail that I haven't run on for a long time.  It had some slight hills on the path, which is good for the training.  Here is a view on the way out:
Pretty, huh?

And here is a view of a beautiful park on the way back:
Please forgive how blurry it is.  I haven't perfected the run-while-taking-a-picture thing.

I forgot to mention, the weather was pretty good too.  It was slightly cooler than it has been.  So, I was finally able to put a "smiley face" on my Nike+ app.

I probably will not be working out or blogging tomorrow as I am eating dinner with a friend tomorrow night (she is cooking for me....so no money!) and then it's the Survivor premiere and the Big Brother finale. I know....priorities.

Until next time!

My New Diet.....

So far, it was a good weekend!

I started the weekend by going running with a friend.  It was HOT!  Ok, it wasn't that hot.  It is Texas.    But it was 80 degrees...and humid!  But I did finish my 3 miles!  The half marathon training starts TOMORROW!

I am a huge movie buff and I am DYING to see THE MAZE RUNNER.  However, I am on a diet....
That's right.  Payday is on THURSDAY.  So, no newly released movies for me!  A couple of friends and I went to "the dollar movie" to see X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.  This was my first X-Men movie to EVER see!  I can finally write this in my baby book.

Seriously though, I was not disappointed!  This was also my first Michael Fassbender movie!  Holy moly! He is HOT! And Hugh Jackman?  Wow.

While I was there, I saw the movie poster for this......

Mockingjay cannot get here soon enough.  I am thinking about reading this book again just because it has been so long since I have read it.  I'm sure that my bestie would not like me elbowing her every five minutes asking why something happened.

Today, I wrote some speech evaluation reports (yawn) and other stuff to get ready for my week.  I did finish reading THE MAZE RUNNER.  I really liked this book!  I can't wait to see it on the big screen!

Until next time.......

Share a Diet Coke With.....

One of the luxuries in life I can't live without is Sirius XM satellite radio.  I have gotten so used to commercial-free radio that I have a small "freak out" when I hear a commercial.  This morning, I was listening to the Lithium channel, which is advertised as 90's grunge. Anyway, were you aware that REM was a grunge band?  Neither was I.....

Anyway, I still love them!

I had to get a Diet Coke before work.  Sadly, I am loving this "Share a Coke with..." campaign entirely too much.  The people standing behind me while I go through all of the bottles....not so much. I have also started editing the names on the bottles.  Here is the one for today.....
Dream big!

After work, I ran a couple of miles at this beautiful trail....

I went running with a friend from work.  It was hard because she is faster than me...and I wouldn't shut up.  I usually just listen to music.  However, I have read many articles about how you should be able to carry on a conversation while running.  Hopefully when we get into fall, I will be more accustomed to it and this will help me with my speed!

Until tomorrow, good night!

Do you remember that time I decided to start a blog?

Hi.  It's been awhile.

So....a few years ago, I decided to start a running blog.  I started on the Couch to 5K program.  I think my last post was during week seven.  Then, POOF, I was gone.  You were probably thinking to yourself, "Where is she?  Did she get abducted?  Is she trapped under something heavy?  Did she quit running?  Is she sitting on her couch eating Ben & Jerry's while watching the Real Housewives of Wherever?"

No, I did not get abducted.  I tried to get abducted by Apolo Ohno, but not no avail.  In fact, if someone could work on that for me, that would be great......

No, I didn't get trapped under anything...except the thought that I had no business writing a blog. Especially a running blog.

Was I sitting on my couch eating Ben & Jerry's while watching Real Housewives?  I plead the fifth.  Ok, sometimes.

Did I quit running?  No.  In fact, I have run THREE HALF MARATHONS!  I am currently training for my fourth half.  And a full marathon will happen in two years.  (I kind of had a little bit of anxiety thinking about a full marathon).

I am wanting to start this blog again.  but I don't want this to JUST be about running.  I want to write about many things. Books. Music. Movies. Make-up. Funny stories. TV. Apolo.  Apolo shirtless......wait, what was I saying?  Oh, right.  THE BLOG!

There will be more changes to come to Will Run For Ice Cream. Stay tuned!!!

And now, a new episode of DALLAS!  I want to be a Ewing.
